Attorney General William Barr clashed with Senate Democrats today in his first appearance on Capitol Hill since the release of the special counsel's Russia report, insisting that 'it was my decision how and when to make it public, not Bob Mueller's.' Mueller wrote a letter complaining to Barr that a four-page memo to Congress describing the principal conclusions of the investigation into President Trump “did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance” of Mueller’s work. The Senate Judiciary Committee today scrutinized those complaints as a possible prelude to impeachment proceedings while the House Judiciary Committee is threatening to subpoena Barr if he refuses to testify at their hearing as well.
