For the 3 years from the night of 8 March, 1956 until the night of 30 April, 1959, a blade-wielding intruder dubbed the Kingsgrove Slasher by a zealous press, terrorised females of all ages in inner and south western Sydney.

The hunt, arrest and court appearances of Sydney’s infamous Kingsgrove Slasher gave the fiend who roamed Sydney’s streets at night slashing females at will, an almost celebrity status which developed a bizarre legion of female fans.
