This week we continue our track-by-track deep dive into the Night Demon EP by investigating “The Chalice.” You will hear how Jarvis was influenced by the Scorpions in writing the riffs and why it was important for this song to have a different feel than the other EP songs. Using isolated guitar, bass and vocal tracks, the guys break down the bass intro, guitar solo, drum patterns, lyrical content, and other aspects of the song.  They shed light on the old studio tricks and sleight-of-hand magic behind some of the effects captured in the recording.  And the band explains the reasons for the rerecording “The Chalice ‘15” bonus track on the German edition of the Curse of the Damned LP, and why it feels markedly different from the original.
