In this podcast, Robyn Swain, a programme lead for the workforce supply programme at NHS Employers, explores a coaching style model to support learners in the workplace, which James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has been using on its wards.
We hear from Sharon Crowle, head of education and practice development at James Paget and Karen Thom, a clinical educator at the trust, about the strengths of this coaching model compared to traditional one to one mentoring and the impact it has had on the quality of learning.
We hear the views of students who have experienced the coaching model first-hand and how they feel it has benefitted them. There is also advice to other trusts who may wish to adopt the CLiP model.
