Leo Vance, born in Toronto, Canada is from a mixed heritage. His father is from Detroit, Michigan and of African American decent and his mother is of Native American and Jewish decent from Toronto Canada. Most of Leo’s adolescent years were spent in Detroit. Coming from a musical family with his mother a performer/singer and father a music producer, Leo found himself with his parents in the studio for most of his childhood. By the age of 13 Leo picked up his first keyboard and learned how to play and took vocal lessons. Leo immersed himself in learning music programs, such as Fruity Loops, Logic Pro and then Pro Tools. Growing and cultivating his sound he started to write and produce his own music. By the age of 17 Leo was hand picked for his talents by the Remix Project whose mission is to help refine the raw talents of young people from across Canada in order to help them find success as participants define it and on their own terms.
