Sean Jones has been singing since his formative years in high school, when he joined R&B vocal group In Essence, a group renowned for their five part vocal harmonies . In Essence w as signed to BMG Music, and went on to win R&B Recording at the Juno Awards and R&B Video of the Year at the Much Music Video Awards. From there, Sean embarked on a solo career that took him in the direction of his musical passion; classic soul.
