Author Timothy Green’s home is with his poems and today we will share his passion. He has a new book out called My Sweet Aroma with about two hundred poems in it. The poems were gathered from his previous books, The Sail, The Face and there are about seventy newly written verses.

Welcome to this edition of Newsgram!

Timothy Green is a poet. He has written a number of books and has a real knack for titling them. His first book was called The Sail, The Face.

Timothy Green – My second book was called Open. My third book is My Sweet Aroma. The first two, um I had very little money to publish it so it wasn’t edited. So I decided to bring the first two books into this third book which is “My Sweet Aroma” and I did seventy on top as well so that one’s professionally edited and I’m really, really proud and pleased with the work.

Yea the second one, OPEN had an old fashioned typewriter on the cover with a piece of paper rolled into it and the words Open typed on a piece of paper. It was clearly the start of something and I wanted to know more.

Timothy Green – Yes you can look at that in many different ways. I mean one word can just mean so much doesn’t it.

For Timothy Open and really all of his poetry is a spiritual journey one laced with the artistry of prose.

Timothy Green – Absolutely yea, it’s not just a case of picking up this book I’ve told you to open it so pick it up. No, it’s a case of being open with people and being open with your beliefs and being open to God as well.

I’ve said this many times on Newsgram but it is important to stay open to new ideas and experiences. Life is a journey and there are so many different ways to travel. Timothy says his poems flow easily out of him. It’s an effortless process from pen to paper, very much like channeling.

Timothy Green – Sentence to sentence, line by line I don’t know what’s coming out next where it’s like I can write a line and then I’m thinking what next and you write another line and it just goes into it really. I write for the pleasure of it and I write because it’s what God wants. He wants to show the world that Christians aren’t stuffy and you know they don’t just go to church and sing happy Christian songs there’s a lot more to it.

In keeping with our journey references, when the creative process is in full force and writing becomes effortless it can be like a flowing river or traveling on the open sea, a place that can be highly unpredictable but also quite beautiful as long as you have faith.

Timothy Green – Yea, while you’re on your journey towards the sea towards freedom of eternity there’s suddenly felt an arm of protection pushing towards the shore so you’ve sailed out to the sea you’ve gone into the distance. You’ve gone to the horizon. You’ve pushed every boundary you want to push and then you think now I want peace. So we go onto the shore and we’re back in the direction of what our lives were meant to be and the difference we’re meant to make. It’s not just for us.

Poetry is such a unique style of writing. It’s musical but the words are the melody. Sometimes it’s very visual like “The rise of the dawn’ a poem he wrote about the beauty of nature and creation and the peace of knowing you are in it. He writes about finding our purpose, traveling the open sea, strengthening our faith and enjoying nature. Here’s a poem he wrote called The Calling Birds.

Timothy Green – The Calling Birds call to me… (Timothy reads the full poem).

You don’t have to be an ornithologist to enjoy that one. He writes about all kinds of easy-to-understand poems that are thought provoking and based on faith with our being overly Christian. Writing is a labor of love for Timothy and you can really feel that in his work. That being said, there is also a great deal of work that went into his latest book. The writing and editing are now finely crafted into a beautiful presentation that anyone can enjoy without being bogged down by a heavy message or agenda.

Timothy Green – It is a Christian book but I believe everyone can read it. These poems are beautiful and they’re pure poems and they are written with love. There’s too much in the media these days of negativity. I believe a Christian should represent God in the way this book is written cause it will give you truth but it’s a joy to read as well. You don’t always have to get meaning from a book. When I read I enjoy the process. l love reading.

Me too. If you enjoy reading and this sounds like something you’d like to have a better look at check out his website (timothygreentimsir.com). This one is called A Prayer for our Brothers and Sisters in the Faith.

Timothy Green – A Prayer for our Brothers and Sisters in the Faith. This is how it goes. However close or far away we pray for your safe return to discern and turn to our lord free from the sword and boat precious lives to defend families to stay bonded to each other the murderers change or fall by their anger and hate. weapons forged against us shall not prosper. lord we ask for your provision for our bodies whether broken or dismembered, fortune to follow us always. Christians truly portrayed in films and letters records and dates to remember what was done at no loss.
