What you need to know about inflation with Austan Goolsbee

Jessica Yellin ​talks to Austan Goolsbee to help you understand what’s causing today’s inflation, what role the stressed ​supply chain plays in driving it, and what if anything the government can do to fight it. Goolsbee explains there’s a debate among economists, and if the government picks the wrong side we could be in for a very long and bumpy ride. We’re just not sure which side is wrong! 

Goolsbee is a Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. He ​served in the White House as ​a member of the Obama Cabinet, ​was ​the chief economist for the President’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board and the chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers.
