Ukraine, Russia, and Manafort: Part 1

Hello, Patrons! Thank you so much for supporting Pantsuit Politics. As you know, I'm becoming a little Glenn Beck in my following of the Mueller investigation (I'm trying to resist the whiteboard!). The history and parallels to US history (you're going to be thinking so much about Richard Nixon again) are fascinating. Plus, I think all of this context is important to understanding U.S. - Russia relations and how these two powers have impacted the entire world for a long time. 

You'll hear me reference The Guardian several times in this episode. I've found its reporting, especially from the early 2000s forward critical to getting a real-time view of events in Ukraine and the Ukraine-Russia connection. See, for example, this piece about Putin dodging the Cassette Scandal, which I discuss in this file.
