Hello, my friends. Today, let's talk about the Quad -- the US, Japan, Australia, and India working together more deliberately in response to China's aggressive action throughout the world and repressive action at home.
The leaders of the Quad countries posted a joint op-ed, and that is a BFD. They've also committed to some concrete action on climate change, Covid relief, and vaccination.
As President Biden is working with the Quad prime ministers, Secretary of State Blinken and Secretary of Defense Austin are reinforcing the US's strong stance against China's coercion on the international stage.
And there is reason to be optimistic about Congressional action on foreign policy. Politico's profile of Senator Todd Young and his partnership with Majority Leader Schumer is definitely worth a read, and I feel optimistic about the Endless Frontier Act.
