There is a plot underway to surround the Capitol and state capitols throughout the United States on Inauguration Day. The Mayor of Washington, D.C. has asked the Department of Homeland Security for help securing the city. The Joint Chiefs of Staff have reminded the military of their Constitutional oath.
There are concerns about ensuring that none of the deployed members of the National Guard will be sympathetic to domestic terrorists, given the wide-spread problem of white supremacy in the military.
