The American economy added 4.8 million jobs last month. This is positive news from the beginning of June but doesn’t reflect current indicators from the recent surge in coronavirus cases across the country. Numbers such as job listings, credit-card spending, retail foot traffic show the recovery might be lagging. The economy is dependent on Americans feeling the virus spread is under control. Yesterday President Trump said: "I think we're gonna be very good with the coronavirus. I think that at some point that's going to sort of just disappear, I hope."

The Russia bounty scandal continues with several news sources reporting that the bounties on American and allied soldiers ranged up to $100,000. President Trump is stating that it’s not true and he wasn’t told. Congress is demanding answers. Top officials, including CIA Director Gina Haspel, will brief the Gang of Eight this morning on intelligence suggesting Russia paid Taliban soldiers to kill Americans.
