A pro-Trump caravan rode through Portland on Saturday. The caravaners shot paintballs at people protesting in favor of racial justice and there were escalating conflicts between the two groups. An unidentified man was shot and killed. He was wearing a hat with Patriot Prayer on it. Patriot Prayer is a far-right militia group, who’s leader Joey Gipson is currently facing criminal charges of felony riot from an incident in May. 

Biden’s statement read “Shooting in the streets of a great American city is unacceptable. I condemn this violence unequivocally. I condemn violence of every kind by anyone, whether on the left or the right. And I challenge Donald Trump to do the same…. We must not become a country at war with ourselves. A country that accepts the killing of fellow Americans who do not agree with you. “

The Director of National Intelligence John L. Ratcliffe sent letters to Congress announcing he would suspend in-person briefing son election security and submit written briefings only.

China made changes to its tech export laws to slow the sell of TikTok. Now, the parent company Byte Dance will have to get approval from the Chinese government for the sale. Currently, Microsoft, Walmart, and Oracle are said to be submitting bids.
