Episodes

S02 E10: Space Force, White Lines

June 21, 2020 09:00 - 1 hour - 42.7 MB

Patrick, Daniel & Luke discuss Steve Carrell and Greg Daniel's Space Force, which promised other-worldly laughs from a big big cast, and White Lines, a murder-myserty nostalgia trip from Álex Pina (Money Heist).

S02 E09: The Last Dance, The Half Of It, Dangerous Lies

May 15, 2020 17:00 - 1 hour - 43.4 MB

Everyone's talking about The Last Dance, some people are talking about The Half Of It, and hardly anybody thinks Dangerous Lies is any good We are talking about all three, so if you can't get enough TLD as we wait for the last two episodes or whether you're in the hunt for a decent movie or a very not decent movie, then listen no further.

S02 E08: Love Wedding Repeat, Unorthodox

April 15, 2020 17:00 - 38 minutes - 26.8 MB

The second lockdown episode looks at Love Wedding Repeat - one we wish we didn't - and Unorthodox - one we wish we could again. You know what Love Wedding Repeat is about, and you may well watch it anyways, but don't say we didn't warn you. But if you (like some of us) were tempted to dismiss Unorthodox as just another show with an edgy title, then we very much would like to warn you against that - it's a goodie!

S02 E07: Tiger King, The Platform

March 30, 2020 18:00 - 29 minutes - 20.3 MB

'Cause I saw tiger Now I understand I saw tiger, and the tiger saw man We still don't really understand tiger people, but we did see tigers. And a lot of other much weirder, scarier stuff. This show has gripped a nation which really didn't take much gripping - but with social distancing and self-isolating in full effect, the Netflix question is more important than ever: what do you watch next? Patrick, Emma, Luke & Daniel talk Tiger King & The Platform; two pretty crazy world's where we're...

S02 E06: Love Is Blind, Cheer

March 05, 2020 22:00 - 1 hour - 48.3 MB

We couldn't ignore it - Love Is Blind is a truly visionary experiment which has never been done before - Stanford Prison Experiment-esque only with more troubling results. Cheer also brought elation via elevation, though for some of us it fell a little flat towards the end. To All The Boys I'Ve Loved Before PS I Still Love You and Uncut Gems also feature in a jam-packed episode of Netskips with your now regular extended cast of Patrick, Luke, Kate, Shane, Helen, and Emma.

S02 E05: The Irishman, Two Popes, Marriage Story

January 27, 2020 20:00 - 1 hour - 48.4 MB

Netskips feasts on Oscar bait - we've got our full strength panel in to digest Netflix's three big pushes for Academy Awards. Was The Irishman too long? Have Scar Jo and Adam Driver re-invented acting? And what exactly does Kate know about popes? Some pretty tense discussion about the three movies, but also about continental fanta. Madagascar 3 gets in there too, somehow.

S02 E04: The Witcher, 6 Underground

January 08, 2020 19:00 - 53 minutes - 36.8 MB

Christmas season has past, and we here at Netskips have wintered well. In addition to all sinking our teeth into the much-anticipated The Witcher, we each feasted on a variety of other treats over the festive period. We also watched 6 Underground before recording to remind ourselves that not everybody may have had such a pleasant break - there are likely many out there who watched this movie on Christmas Day even.

S02 E03: The Witcher, 6 Underground

January 08, 2020 19:00 - 53 minutes - 36.8 MB

S02 E03: The Netskips Christmas Special

December 17, 2019 22:00 - 45 minutes - 31.5 MB

Happy holidays one and all! We're rounding off our first year of the podcast with a Christmas special. Netflix are looking to dethrone Hallmark as the home for terrible, middle of the road, Christmas by numbers movies, and with The Knight Before Christmas they show they mean business. But then there's Let It Snow, which just kind of good. Netflix are also dabbling in Christmas series; with Merry Happy Whatever we wish they hadn't, but Home For Christmas keeps the one-hot-one-cold pattern al...

S02 E02: The King

November 09, 2019 17:00 - 51 minutes - 35.1 MB

The internet's boyfriend Timothée Chalamet is King Henry V and the internet's first kiss R Patz is The Dauphin (for some reason). A promising trailer hints that Netflix may have found a blockbuster follow-up to Birdbox - so have they pulled it off. We welcome a few new voices this episode, and Kate & Shane also have a few thoughts on some other Netflix content that may or may not be worth a watch.

S02 E01: The Laundromat, Daybreak, The Politician

November 01, 2019 22:00 - 38 minutes - 26.5 MB

Netskips returns for a new season and we're kicking things off with two pretty darn underwhelming watches. Luke, Emma, Patrick (and a little bit Helen) take us through Steven Soderbergh and Meryl Streep's sermon on the Panama Papers, as well as the first episode of a a children's TV show. We do at least have some recommendations to share, including Ryan Murphy's The Politician. Though with it being two month since we last chatted, we've watched some duds too...

Double Dutch 01: The I-Land

September 12, 2019 21:00 - 42 minutes - 29.1 MB

Watch episode 1 of Netflix's The I-Land alongside Patrick and pretend for 40 minutes you're not alone. This is the revolutionary new podcast offering where you can listen live as we dive into the very newest, and often very worst, Netflix original content.

S01 E10: Wu Assassins, Otherhood

August 12, 2019 22:00 - 26 minutes - 18.5 MB

Our last episode for season 1 ends with Wu Assassins - everybody wants Kung Fu fighting, yes, but hopefully this can offer a little something more. Then there's Otherhood, a feelgood movie which, to be fair, left us feeling OK-to-good. Felicity Huffman is not in jail yet!

S01 E09: Another Life, Secret Obsession

August 05, 2019 20:00 - 29 minutes - 20.1 MB

If you like sci-fi, you probably hated Netflix's Star Trek prequel that came out two years back, and are maybe wary of they're latest venture into the deep space genre, Another Life. They've recruited Katie Sackhoff of Battlestar Galactica fame, and they might have lifted a plotline or two from some other classics... We also look at Secret Obsession. This got a pretty big push from Netflix and it's likely you've seen the trailer. Are there any more secrets to be discovered, or was,  incredi...

S01 E08: Typewriter, After

July 22, 2019 18:00 - 26 minutes - 18 MB

Stranger Things was so 80's, but Typewriter is in Goa! It looks a little bit spooky, so we've had a look and will let you know exactly how spooky. Then there's After, which is not titled so because After you watch it you wish you hadn't, but it still kinda works I guess.

S01 E07 The Last Czars, Beats

July 15, 2019 18:00 - 29 minutes - 20.5 MB

Ra-ra-Rasputin, lover of the Russian queen... If you would like to know more about Rasputin, then Netflix's The Last Czars could be for you. But it comes with a pretty big health warning - historians.  We weigh up the glitz and glamour of a big-budget production against several floating heads hellbent on making sure you always, at every moment, have all the facts you could ever possibly need. Then there's Beats (not the Glaswegian one by Steven Soderbergh) which garnered mixed reviews crit...

S01 E06: Trinkets, I Am Mother

July 08, 2019 18:00 - 30 minutes - 20.7 MB

Ever wanted to steal something just for the rush? Well now you don't have to, cause with Trinkets, Netflix do it for you. But the question is, will Elodie, Tabitha and Moe steal your hearts or just your time? We also found a better movie for you to watch than Murder Mystery - but that's not saying an awful lot. Listen and find out if I Am Mother is the sci-fi Saturday night the trailer promises it to be.

S01 E05: Tales of the City, Murder Mystery

July 01, 2019 19:00 - 25 minutes - 17.8 MB

Who doesn't love a good reboot, eh? Netflix has brought back eccentric San Fran drama Tales of the City for its fourth run almost 20 years since it last left our screens. But as with Mary-Ann Singleton, does it deserve to be welcomed back? For our movie segment, we give an emphatic verdict on whether Murder Mystery is worth a watch, though we suspect from the viewing figures that we may already be too late.

S01 E04: When They See Us, Always Be My Maybe

June 24, 2019 20:00 - 27 minutes - 19.1 MB

Donald Trump took out a full page ad in newspapers calling for the death penalty for five kids accused of raping and beating a woman in Central Park in 1989. All five were convicted. We know now they were innocent, and we're sharing our thoughts on episode 1 of Netflix's dramatisation of the story that never should have happened. We also watched Always Be My Maybe which may perhaps have provoked the strongest reaction from our panel to date.  SAIL.

S01 E03: High Seas, The Perfection

June 18, 2019 00:00 - 31 minutes - 21.6 MB

All aboard for Murder on the Orient Express on the Titanic! Patrick, Luke, and Daniel nibble on this easy-on-the-eye Spanish language drama, which happens to have a murder mystery thing going on in the background somewhere. Also find out whether psychological thriller The Perfection lives up to its promising trailer. It could your next Saturday night watch, it could be a waste of time, who knows? You will, with this weeks Netskips.

S01 E02: What / If, Good Sam

June 10, 2019 19:00 - 25 minutes - 11.8 MB

Renée Zelwegger is cold & calculating venture capitalist who makes medical entrepreneur Lisa an offer she could very easily refuse. But she doesn't, and that's what the show is about. Join Patrick, Luke, & Emma as they dissect the opening episodes and consider What / If you watched it yourself. Emma & Patrick also lament the time they lost watching 60 minutes of Good Sam.

S01 E01: The Society, TATBILB

June 04, 2019 21:00 - 33 minutes - 15.1 MB

The Society sees a bunch of high school students return from a camping trip before it even begins to find everyone else has disappeared. No grown ups mean no rules! Join Patrick, Luke, and Emma as they dive into the first handful of episodes and find out if you should bother yourself. We also see if Luke can guess how Netfkix rom To All The Boys I've Loved Before ends after 60 mins of watching. All this while sitting on squeaky chairs.
