If you're a 90s kid, Saturday, October 31st, 1992 was a pivotal moment for Saturday morning cartoons, as 'X-Men: the Animated Series' became a staple for many comic book enthusiasts. With its emphasis on a number of contentious issues, such as racial and religious differences, 'X-Men: the Animated Series' forged a legacy that continues to be revered nearly 27 years after its release.

After many failed attempts at adapting these stories and characters to television, -- remember 'Pryde of the X-Men'? -- fate brought together the right team of people, all at the right time, making the story behind the series as dramatic and triumphant as even our favorite X-Men episodes.

With an executive risking her entire career on the success of a series that was the first of its kind, coupled with a love story that would even make Scott Summers and Jean Gray blush, Julia and Eric Lewald share with us the riveting and suspenseful tale behind the series that paved the way for the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it today.
