We have done several shows on managing anxiety, PTSD, stress, conflict, terror management theory, building resilience, and related topics. Managing a global situation such as what we have now, with not only brand-new factors full of uncertainty and changing targets but the added cruel stress of propaganda and political wars made of the situation both from within and country against country, can simply be too damned much for people to handle.

We want to talk about what makes a situation like this unique in managing our stress and coping with emergency situations, to help our listeners to better cope in these dramatic, dangerous, and uncertain times. Please note that we are focusing specifically on everyday people, rather than professionals, first responders, or essential personnel, at least for tonight’s episode. Such persons may have additional factors or considerations specific to their situations that are less applicable to others.

On our last show, Part 1, we discussed:
An Overview of Coping with Major Disasters and EmergenciesHow We Learn Coping Skills & What They Are
Tonight we will discuss:
A bit more info on How We Learn Coping Skills & What They Are How Poor or Absent Coping Skills Harm Us & OthersNavigating Emergency Choices Amidst Uncertainty & Attack
We'll start off the evening with some topic-relevant Classic Rock played by Dr. Mathis, followed by Classic Rock trivia in "The Rock & Roll Shrink Recalls," followed by our topic discussion.
