Question to John and Chris – The 2019 Quality Counts report from Education Week was just released and ranks North Carolina 37th out of the 50 states. We received a letter grade of C-, partly because we got an F in the amount we spend per student. We spend almost $9,400 per student and the national average is $12,800. We were ranked 11th in 2011 and now 37th. What significance is there in these rankings?
