Awareness of missing and murdered Indigenous people continues to grow, even in mainstream circles. In Colorado, an effort to establish an office to tackle MMIP cases is making progress in the legislature, but faces some opposition. In California, tribal leaders are pushing for more support to help tribes address the issue. Many other states are working on combating the problem in their own ways.
