since 1991, 11 miles from the nearest power pole or telephone line. He
has a B.A. in Technical Journalism from Colorado State University, and
worked for 8 years as a renewable energy system designer and installer.
Dan and his company Buckville Energy Consulting are accredited

Council, and offer renewable energy classes across the US and Canada
each year. He is co-author of the book Homebrew Wind Power (now in its
third printing), and his articles and photographs appear regularly in
such publications as Home Power Magazine, The Journal of Green Building,
