SCOTUS Update and URGE Event

This week, John Kasich is trying to decide when in the presidential election calendar to sign the bill to defund Planned Parenthood.

Jaime joined students from URGE in condemning the defunding; and she called for additional hearings for House Bill 408, to create an abortion clinic buffer zone. Stay tuned after the show to hear the remarks from their media event.

Finally, we look to the US Supreme Court. With the sudden passing of Justice Antonin Scalia, the possibility of a new SCOTUS nominee has taken over the presidential campaign and political discussions everywhere. Meanwhile, NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio is joining with the Center for Reproductive Rights to send a bus to Washington DC for oral arguments on Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellersteadt(formerly Cole) on March 2.
