This week, Jaime, Randi, and Gabe discussed this week’s Ohio Senate vote to defund Planned Parenthood. Because of a suspicious series of events, the Senate delayed their vote and House adjourned before they could vote to concur with the amended bill. Instead of the bill going directly to John Kasich, it’s on hold until a Feb. 9 House vote.

Hillary Clinton gets this week’s That’s What She Said for her call on John Kasich to veto the bill: “It’s time for Governor Kasich to put the health and well-being of his constituents ahead of his own political ambitions and veto this bill to defund Planned Parenthood – a trusted health care provider and lifeline for thousands of women, men, and young people in Ohio.”

Sen. Peggy Lehner earns this week’s Walk of Shame for her admission on the Ohio Senate floor that the defunding attack is purely about Planned Parenthood’s commitment to provide safe and legal abortions. Echoing her 2013 floor speech during the previous time Ohio defunded Planned Parenthood, she said that if Planned Parenthood simply stopped doing abortions, “This would all go away.”
