The Marvelous Life of Marvellous Iheukumere

During this episode, we speak with Marvellous Iheukwumere about her efforts to help student-athletes achieve success after graduation. Marvellous explains how she used sports as a gateway to achieve her dreams. She is now driven to help athletes learn to navigate the working world. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Make A Play Foundation, a non-profit that helps student-athletes with internship and career opportunities. Marvellous shares how she believes student-athletes can directly relate competitive experiences with career goals after graduation and NIL opportunities while in school.

Marvellous immigrated to the US from Nigeria and she used sports to make friends and fell in love with track and field. In our interview, Marvellous discusses the college recruitment process, her experience as an Ivy League sprinter for Columbia, her time as a professional runner for Nigeria following graduation from Columbia, her experience at the Olympic trials for the 200 Meter, and her involvement in the NIL world today.
