In this episode, we talk about how comfortable we are entertaining these Baskin Robbins type talks. While all of us generally acknowledge what matters to God and what doesn't, we still priorize, grumble, and get nitpicky over the very things we've already confessed don't matter to our Lord.
Have you ever overheard or been a part of a conversation about what we don't like about church? Maybe you've also thought, "Hmmm. We're kind of funny."
In this episode, we talk about how comfortable we are entertaining these Baskin Robbins type talks. While all of us generally acknowledge what matters to God and what doesn't, we still priorize, grumble, and get nitpicky over the very things we've already confessed don't matter to our Lord.
We welcome consumer Christianity by the theology we live out. Shouldn't we be the people who understand best that God cares for the eternal and unseen?
As this episode goes on, we ponder what it means to be gifted by God, we take the time to cover some foundational guidelines for when to get nitpicky, and we talk about how we can go about that without being divisive.
If we are pushing sincerity to Scripture over methods, then we will achieve unity amidst diversity. This is incredibly foreign in our Christian culture. We're so used to these catered microcultures, that we automatically make generalized assumptions about one person as though they represent and are represented by the whole people group of that church.
Because Scripture is our bias, let's value what Scripture values. This when we should get nitpicky. Come talk with us.
