Last month, on August 2nd, I woke up and realized it has been exactly 22 years, since the world lost one of its iconic presidents, one with a sincere commitment to Africa’s underdogs. On that morning, while waiting for Phuket to wake up, and the lazy sun to shine, I started daydreaming… what does the world still remembers of him? What do the millions of African children, born after his death in 1997, know about his gift to the world? his legendary music? What would he tell them, if he was to address his people, just like any other president?
Welcome on board; we are headed to Kalakuta Republic, to listen to this imaginary speech of the Legendary musician, activist and revolutionary mind, Fela Ransome Kuti, AKA the Black President.
