Join us for a deep dive into the disturbing and complex disorder known as Munchausen by Proxy with podcast host Andrea Dunlop. This rare form of child abuse involves caregivers, often mothers, inducing illness or injury in their children to garner attention and sympathy. Tune in to learn more about this disturbing psychological phenomenon and how it can be identified and addressed. We discuss how Andrea’s experience with this abuse has moved her toward helping heal others.
Andrea Dunlop is a podcaster and the author of five books, including the novel Women Are the Fiercest Creatures (March 2023; Zibby Book) and a forthcoming true crime book from St Martin's Press. Andrea is a member of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children’s Munchausen by Proxy committee and the co-founder (along with Dr. Marc Feldman) of Munchausen Support, a resource site and 501c3.
