$10 Million Prize to Discover the Origin of Humans' Genetic Code

On several recent shows we’ve been discussing some of the novel funding mechanisms that have been emerging in and around the biotech space, specifically related to some of the unmet needs and unanswered questions that we have been focused on, particularly related to the health, aging and longevity biology front.

We have had guests join us from both the $125 Million Healthy Ageing Challenge program of UKRI (UK Research and Innovation) and the US$30 Million Healthy Longevity Global Grand Challenge of the U.S. National Academy of Medicine. Joining me today is Mr. Perry Marshall, who is one of the most sought-after business consultants to multiple industries, and aside from being the author of the world's best-selling book on digital advertising, 80/20 Sales and Marketing, also wrote the fascinating Evolution 2.0 - Breaking the Deadlock Between Darwin and Design, to bring his electrical engineering perspective to focus on some of the grand unrecognised cellular / biological discoveries from the last century.

Mr. Marshall formed his newest company, Natural Code LLC, to develop and apply core principles of how nature gives rise to information, consciousness and intelligence, and is now offering a US$10 million incentive prize, called the Evolution 2.0 Prize, believed to be the largest single award ever in basic science, to the person or team that can solve one of the largest mysteries in history: how genetic code inside cells got there, how cells intentionally self-organize, communicate, then purposely adapt, and where did the information come from in the first place?

This new international competition is intended to speed breakthroughs around the still unknown process of cell communication that the prize organizers predict can turn off cancer, allow robots to think for themselves, and even create new plant life to combat climate change.

His advisory panel represents top genetic experts from Harvard, including Dr. George Church, and Oxford, including Dr. Denis Noble – Royal Society biologist and first in the world to model the human heart on computer, plus a diverse group of investors from private banking, healthcare and biotechnology, software, real estate, publishing and more.
