Each week, in From the Vault we sample a clip from a classic Disney film, short, television or radio program, or Disneyland Record.   This week we present a Disneyland Little Long Playing Record.  First, listen to a short biography about the incomparable Disneyland Story Reader, Robie Lester followed by her exquisite telling of the Story of Sleeping Beauty!

Next: a special Mouse Lounge mini-documentary about the history of the 1959 feature film, Sleeping Beauty.

Each week we present a high definition ride-through from a Disney Park East or a Disney Park West.   This week we feature a slight departure from our typical ride-thrus.  So often we walk through Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland on our way to our favorite Fantasyland attractions.  This time, we stop just beyond the castle bridge and listen; to hear a beautiful medley of music from the films that define the Fantasyland sound experience.

We'll close this week’s show with a trio of unique interpretations of Sammy Fain’s, “Once Upon a Dream”.  First, from the six disc superset, “A Musical History of Disneyland” we board King Arthur’s Carousel and hear a fantastic arrangement for Stinson Band Organ.  Then, we’ll delve in a bit of Disney Bubble Gum Pop and hear Emily Osments auto-tuned performance.  And just about when three minutes of Disneymania convinces you there’s no such thing as talent, have a listen to the original Aurora and Prince Philip, Mary Costa & Bill Shirley from the re-mastered soundtrack.

Enjoy!
