This week, we revisit our interview with Dr. Mark Shrime. Mark is an internationally renowned speaker, surgeon, and author. He serves as the International Chief Medical Officer at Mercy Ships and a Lecturer in Global Health and Social Medicine at the Harvard Medical School.

Mark has written a new book Solving for Why: A Surgeon’s Journey to Discover the Transformative Power of Purpose.

He received his MD from the University of Texas and received his Ph.D. in health policy from Harvard University, with a concentration in decision science.

When not working, he is an avid photographer and rock climber and has competed on Seasons 8, 9, and 11 of American Ninja Warrior.
