Many of you will be familiar with The Wiggles, whether it's from your childhood, your kids or your grandkids, and this week we got to chat with Emma Watkins aka Emma Wiggle and her mum Kathryn. She joined the lineup many years ago as the Yellow Wiggle! We hear all about Emma's childhood, the families love of animals, their connection to the matriarch of the family, Kathryn's mother and more!
Emma truly is as calming in person (virtually) as she is on the screen or stage. There is no wonder children across the globe love her and want to be her! Kathryn, the always positive mother, supported Emma's dreams to be on the stage and screen. Turning rejection into a laughing and teachable moment, which helped Emma pick herself up and try again.
Even though Emma missed out on her dream to be in the theatre production of Cats, she landed on her feet and became the first female Wiggle, paving the way for the Wiggles to now grow their family even further!
Both Emma & Kathryn were extremely open about Emma's diagnosis and surgery due to endometriosis! She was back in the Wiggles studio after 6 weeks - with Kathryn bringing her soup and sitting by her bedside, along with her sister.
Despite the geographical distance between them, they connect, do the quiz from the paper via zoom, and exchange dog and horse photos.
It was an absolute pleasure to speak with Emma & Kathryn - we're now BFFs with Kathryn - and will have them back on with Emma's sister very soon!
If you have a Mother/Daughter relationship you would like to share, please reach out via Instagram or on the website! We'd love to hear from you.
Stay Safe and don't forget to call your mum xx
