Being mindful is one way to reduce the stress of being a parent and practicing mindfulness means paying attention to what’s happening in the moment and accepting those experiences and feelings without judgment.
We wanted to dive a bit further into this topic on tonight’s episode because we find it’s helpful for us while we parent our kids and it seems to have a positive effect on them, too! It helps us to listen to our children with our full attention, accept them – and ourselves – without judgement (or try to anyway!), validate our children’s feelings and respond accordingly, manage our own feelings and reactions, and show compassion for ourselves and our children.
