Let’s bring you up to speed now with how the nation’s politics is looking this lunchtime. 

We woke up this morning with no one party having a majority of the seats in the next term in the House of Commons. And so today, we’ve been hearing from the leaders of the NDP and the Conservatives and gaining clues as to how this new kind of politics might work.

Let’s start with Jagmeet Singh. He was first out of the blocks this morning at a press conference in Burnaby, right near the Metropolis at Metrotown.

He says he hasn't spoken to Justin Trudeau about how the minority Parliament will work, but says he is open to anything.
