Huawei’s chief financial officer Meng Wanzhou remains under patrial house arrest in Vancouver as she awaits her extradition hearing. Wanzhou has now said that she may study for a doctorate in business administration at the University of British Columbia while on bail. This comment from Wanzhou, and the fact that Huawei has funded research at UBC, has some academics concerned about retaliation from the United States.
