Canada might be one of the world’s most envied nations, but when it comes to vacation time, we’re at the back of the pack.-A recent (2017) Expedia study showed that Canada is among the Top 10 most vacation-deprived countries in the world.-Another study showed that Canadians are entitled to only 10 working days of vacation for every completed "year of employment" – one of the lowest entitlements in the western world. To top it all off, a new survey by Leger and Valneva shows that that we’re highly unlikely to take the few vacation days we do have:- More than 25% of Canadians take less than their allotted number of vacation days.- According to the survey, the majority (35%) of Canadians who don’t take their full number of vacation days say that it’s either because: (1) they’re too busy; (2) because their employer won’t allow it; or (3) because there is a lack of staff to cover for them.My advice is, if you’re only going to take a few vacation days a year, it’s essential that you plan ahead to make the most of them.

Canada might be one of the world’s most envied nations, but when it comes to vacation time, we’re at the back of the pack.
-A recent (2017) Expedia study showed that Canada is among the Top 10 most vacation-deprived countries in the world.
-Another study showed that Canadians are entitled to only 10 working days of vacation for every completed "year of employment" – one of the lowest entitlements in the western world.

To top it all off, a new survey by Leger and Valneva shows that that we’re highly unlikely to take the few vacation days we do have:
- More than 25% of Canadians take less than their allotted number of vacation days.
- According to the survey, the majority (35%) of Canadians who don’t take their full number of vacation days say that it’s either because: (1) they’re too busy; (2) because their employer won’t allow it; or (3) because there is a lack of staff to cover for them.

My advice is, if you’re only going to take a few vacation days a year, it’s essential that you plan ahead to make the most of them.
