Chapter 1

🔥🔥 Hot question of the day 🔥🔥

Vote in @simisara980's 🔥 question of the day: While transit ridership has gone up in Metro Vancouver, perhaps surprisingly, the number of assaults against TransLink staff has been going down. Does transit feel safer to you now compared to a few years ago?

Yes, much safer.

No, much worse.

About the same.

Chapter 2

Andrew Wilkinson speaks out as party comes under fire in legislature expenses scandal

BC Liberals leader, Andrew Wilkinson, has been speaking to the media in the past 10 minutes or so. He says that there are three things he would like to see the government do to address the expenses scandal at the legislature.

He was asked specifically about his own MLA, Linda Reid. In a few moments we’ll be speaking to Andrew Weaver on the program - and Weaver has called for Reid to step aside as assistant deputy speaker.

Wilkinson was also asked if he accepts that the speaker, Darryl Plecas, has now been validated by the publication of his report.

Juan Guiado declares himself president of Venezuela

Venezuelans are headed into uncharted political waters after a young opposition leader declared himself interim president. Juan Guiado said his declaration was the only way to end what he calls the "dictatorship" of President Nicolas Maduro.

You may have heard about this story in recent days and have wondered how all this came about. To help us understand the political situation in Venezuela, I’m joined by Dr Jennifer McCoy, who is a professor of political science at Georgia State University.

Chapter 6

Hitler’s blueprint for North America

Canada's national archive has acquired a rare book it says could have served as a blueprint for a Nazi purge of Jews in North America. Once part of Adolf Hitler's personal library, the 1944 volume reports on the Jewish population of certain cities as well as key organizations and printing presses of Canadian and American Jewish communities. The 137-page German-language report, ``Statistics, Media, and Organizations of Jewry in the United States and Canada,'' was compiled by researcher Heinz Kloss, who did field work in the United States.  Library and Archives Canada says the research was carried out for German authorities and hints at what might have happened in North America if the Allies had lost the Second World War. The bookplate features a stylized eagle, swastika and the words Ex Libris Adolf Hitler, indicating it came from Hitler's collection.  Library and Archives purchased the volume from a bookseller and says it was likely plucked from Hitler's bookshelves by an Allied soldier.

Chapter 7

Meet the people who actually went to the ill-fated Fyre Festival

The FYRE Festival was billed as a music festival of untold opulence, but the chaos and epic failure that ensued is what has become legendary. Two documentaries, one of Netflix and one on Hulu, are out and they document what went wrong at the festival that never was.

Here are the details to jog your memory back… Fyre Festival was a music festival scheduled to take place on the Bahamian island of Great Exuma over two weekends in April and May 2017.

Organized by Fyre Media founder Billy McFarland and rapper Ja Rule as a luxury music festival to promote the Fyre music booking app, the event was promoted on Instagram by "social media influencers" and other media personalities, many of whom did not initially disclose they had been paid to do so.

During the Fyre Festival's inaugural weekend, the event experienced problems related to security, food, accommodations and artist relations. Eventually, the festival was indefinitely postponed after some attendees had arrived, finding tents and prepackaged sandwiches, instead of the luxury villas and gourmet meals they had been promised when they paid thousands of dollars for admission.
