CHAPTER 1

đŸ”„đŸ”„ Hot question of the day đŸ”„đŸ”„

A British teacher is hoping to get his pregnant Canadian wife and their child out of the Chinese city that's the epicentre of the new coronavirus outbreak. Tom Williams has been living in Wuhan (WOO'-hahn) for about five years. He says he'd like to see his wife Lauren, who's from Langley, B-C and is due to give birth next month, leave Wuhan as soon as possible.  Williams is hoping authorities from other countries will follow the Americans’ lead and get their citizens out.

Williams says he called the emergency hotline for the Canadian embassy over the weekend and authorities in Ottawa told him to stay put, saying there were no plans to evacuate Canadians from the city. He adds that while things seem pretty calm in Wuhan right now, the picture is rapidly changing and the situation is becoming more risky.
