Chapter 1

🔥🔥 Hot question of the day 🔥🔥

It’s @SimiSara980’s 🔥 question of the day:

Starbucks stores across Metro Vancouver are transitioning into holiday mode today, unveiling this year’s Christmas-themed cups.

It’s prompted some complaints that it’s too early for Christmas-themed items. What do you think?

Yes, too early!

No, bring on Christmas!

Chapter 3

Gas prices tumble in Metro Vancouver, at a rate never before seen by analysts

Some great, great news for drivers this morning.

Analysts say gas prices are dropping 10-cents a litre today, and they'll go down again tomorrow.

Just before we came on-air I spoke with petroleum analyst, Dan McTeague (McTEGG) - he told me more.

Guest: Dan McTeague

Chapter 4

Transit strike analysis: Horgan government faces a political tightrope if union action escalates

Our Keith Baldrey tells the Simi Sara Show that the current uniform and overtime ban remains too minor to warrant the government stepping in and flexing its elbows in the dispute.

However, if job action expands to the point where general bus transit services are halted – which would maximize the impact on the general public – that will be the time to question the premier about whether they should be getting involved.

Guest: Keith Baldrey

Global’s Legislative Bureau Chief in Victoria

Chapter 5

Science With Simi: what is the flu?

It’s flu season once again - and it’s a good time to think about ways in which you can avoid putting yourself, and others, at risk.

So what is the flu? And why is it different from year to year? Alan Glasser, pharmacist from Marks Pharmacy, explains.

Chapter 7

When it comes to patient safety, where does Canada rank?

It’s inevitable - at some point in all of our lives, we will either have to undergo surgery or help someone recover from surgery. One thing that we can all agree on is that undergoing surgery is scary, and we all want the best possible results for ourselves or our loved ones.

I spoke with Christina Lawland, a senior researcher with Health System Analysis and Emerging Issues with the Canadian Institute for Health Information.

She told me that every two years CIHI updates Canada’s OECD international comparisons e-tool. It’s an interactive tool that allows you to see how Canada compares to other developed countries. CIHI decided this time to focus on patient safety and how our country compares to other developed countries.

Chapter 8

A woman choked on food at a Gastown restaurant. She says the owner saved her life.

When we go out for a bite to eat, we just want a nice meal, good times… and we’re not looking for any drama.

So when my next guest went out for dinner last Thursday, she probably never expected she would be sitting in a radio studio, telling me what happened.

I’m joined by Joanne Lomas from Coquitlam - and the owner of the Water Street Cafe in Gastown, Eli Brennan.

Guest: Eli Brennan
