Chapter 1

🔥🔥 Hot question of the day 🔥🔥

Tough Monday for a lot of people out there. The switch to Daylight Saving Time early yesterday morning hit some of us pretty hard. So much so that this morning even the President of the United States Donald Trump said he would support staying on Daylight Saving Time permanently. That may bode well for states like Washington, Oregon and California, which are considering joining B.C. in creating a permanent Pacific Time with no springing forward or falling back.

Given all the talk we thought we’d ask for our Hot Question of the Day: did you feel the effects of the time change?

Vote in @simisara980's 🔥 question of the day:

We switched to Daylight Saving Time yesterday, moving clocks forward by one hour and this morning there are a lot of complaints about trouble sleeping and feeling sluggish. Did you feel the effects of the time change?

Yes! I’m exhausted

No, stop complaining!

Chapter 2

The hidden key to the SNC-Lavalin Scandal

SNC-Lavalin, a Canadian corporate giant with an established history of corruption, is charged with bribing the Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi's brutal regime over many years, in exchange for lucrative contracts. This case is the most serious and important prosecution of corporate corruption in modern Canadian history, and we're arguing about jobs and whether Jody Wilson-Raybould is hard to get along with.

Chapter 3

Boeing shares tank after plane crash, dragging down market

A plunge in the shares of the world’s largest plane maker after a fatal crash in Ethiopia set the Dow Jones Industrial index for a sharp fall at the open on Monday and capped gains in the broader markets. Boeing Co, the best performing Dow component this year by a wide margin, tumbled 11.5 percent in premarket trading, and appeared on track for its worst day in nearly two decades after many airlines grounded the company’s new 737 MAX 8 passenger jet following the second deadly crash in just five months.

Chapter 4

Gas line work to begin in Coquitlam as mayor suggests taking fight with FortisBC to court

Drivers in Coquitlam are facing construction nightmares on Como Lake Avenue today. FortisBC will begin the next phase of its massive gas line replacement project that’s already caused months of traffic delays and lost business in Burnaby and Vancouver since the summer of 2018. The mayor of Coquitlam has already gone on record with his unhappiness that his city will face that same fate. However, on Sunday, he said he may end up taking Fortis to court over the utility’s plans to leave the old pipeline in the ground along with the new one.

Guest: Richard Stewart

Mayor of Coquitlam

Chapter 6

Canadians going South for health care

Today SecondStreet.org, a new Canadian think tank, released a health care report showing the number of Canadians leaving the country specifically for health care.

SecondStreet.org used Statistics Canada data to calculate that Canadian patients made at least 217,500 trips to other countries in 2017 specifically for health care. However, if you include those travelling with the patients (e.g. a spouse, family members, friend), the total rises to at least 369,700 people.
