CHAPTER 1

🔥🔥 Hot question of the day 🔥🔥

It’s @MikeSmythNews’s 🔥 question of the day:

Some 69% of Vancouverites support having separated bike lanes in the city, according to a new Research Co poll.

Do you think Vancouver should have more bike lanes?

Yes, let’s add more!

No, there are too many.

We have the right amount.

CHAPTER 2

Surrey’s mayor says ‘large amount’ of residents don’t want ridesharing… but is that accurate?

Mayors from Metro Vancouver almost all voted Thursday to fast-track a regional business licence model for ridesharing companies at the TransLink mayor’s council.

All, that is, except for one.

Surrey Mayor Doug McCallum was the sole voice of opposition around the table — voting against the motion because many residents of Surrey don’t want ridesharing in the city at all, he said.

Guest: Linda Annis

Surrey City Councillor

CHAPTER 3

UK election: what Boris Johnson’s huge majority means for Brexit

British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, says his huge majority in Parliament means he now has a solid chance of getting the UK out of the European Union by the scheduled date of January 31st.

Johnson's call to “get Brexit done” proved more appealing to voters than the Labour party's approach, which raised the prospect of yet more delay in the already slow Brexit process.

Labour will seek a new leader after a period of “reflection”, after crushing losses in working class districts in north and central England.

Vice President of Public Affairs, Ipsos

CHAPTER 7

Third facility operated by Retirement Concepts comes under government management

Concerns over quality of care have prompted the Vancouver Island Health Authority to appoint an outside administrator to take over the running of the Selkirk Seniors Village in Victoria.

It's the third facility operated by Retirement Concepts to come under government management.

In a statement to the Simi Sara Show, the chief operating officer of the company that operates the facilities says she recognizes that this is "unprecedented".

Jennie Deneka tells us: "Unfortunately, our collective efforts have not produced the results required to ensure full compliance of licensing.
