That was two years ago. It still hasn't made it through the Senate. It keeps getting pushed back - and the NDP's not happy about that, they say they want to get it passed.

Chapter 4

How a retired RCMP officer became a protestor

Roughly 200 animal rights activists descended on an Abbotsford hog farm to protest what they allege is abusive treatment of the animals inside.

About 50 people entered the barn at Excelsior Hog Farms Sunday morning, with more than 100 more supporters gathering outside the property singing and waving signs.

Of course, police showed up and removed the protesters from inside the barn in the early afternoon, but no one was arrested.

Here’s one of the interesting things about this. One of the organizers of that protest is actually a former cop. He’s former RCMP corporal, Dan Moskaluk of Naramata, just north of Penticton.

So how does someone go from enforcing the law, to crossing the protest line, and being on the receiving end of police interventions?

Guest: Dan Moskaluk

former RCMP corporal

After more than three decades in the making, Tim Hortons said its iconic roll-up-the-rim-to-win contest will undergo a major revamp next year after sales fell in the latest quarter, and the retailer faces backlash from environmentalists over its disposable cups. A big part of refreshing the promotion that runs annually from February to April will be to move it online, according to its parent company Restaurant Brands International Inc. But, how will customers react to a shift away from rolling up the rim of a physical cup to win a prize?
