Chapter 1

🔥🔥 Hot question of the day 🔥🔥

For more than a hundred years now we have been moving our clocks ahead by one hour in the spring and back by one hour in the fall for Daylight Saving Time. In fact, Port Arthur, Ontario was the first city in the world to enact Daylight Saving Time back in 1908. It became much more popular during World War I and it has more or less been with us ever since. But increasingly there has been talk about not putting everyone through the time change.

Premier John Horgan says he's checking with his west coast neighbours in the United States to see if the timing may be right to consider adopting a single, region-wide time zone.

He's written to the governors of California, Oregon and Washington to gauge their moods about moving to a set time zone.

Vote in @simisara980's 🔥 question of the day: should we be getting rid of the time change we go through every spring or fall? And if we do, what time should we stay with?

Daylight Saving all-year

Standard Time all-year

Keep biannual time change

Chapter 7

Ex-Trump campaign boss Manafort gets 47-month sentence

Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort has been sentenced to nearly four years in prison for tax and bank fraud related to his work advising Ukrainian politicians. But that was much less than what was called for under sentencing guidelines.

Manafort, sitting in a wheelchair as he deals with complications from gout, had no visible reaction as he heard the 47-month sentence. While that was the longest sentence to date to come from special counsel Robert Mueller's probe, it could have been much worse for Manafort. Sentencing guidelines called for a 20-year-term, effectively a lifetime sentence for the 69-year-old.

Manafort has been jailed since June, so he will receive credit for the nine months he has already served. He still faces the possibility of additional time from his sentencing in a separate case in the District of Columbia.
