It’s @SimiSara980’s 🔥 question of the day:

Former B.C. sergeant-at-arms ‘failed to tell the truth’ during probe: report
A new report conducted by former Vancouver Deputy Police Chief Doug LePard says the former sergeant-at-arms at the BC Legislature was dishonest during an investigation into the recent spending scandal.
LePard says Gary Lenz lied in both oral and written submissions to retired Chief Justice, Beverley McLachlin, who was commissioned by the province to look into allegations of overspending. McLachlin cleared Lenz of misconduct and he retired last week. In a statement, Lenz says he rejects LePard's conclusions and is adamant about his total honesty in his duties at the legislature.

BC Federation of Labour calls for boycott of four hotels where workers are on strike
Those are the sounds from just outside our CKNW studios as it happens, over at the Hotel Georgia in Downtown Vancouver. That’s where workers have been off the job after negotiations between Unite Here Local 40 and employers broke down last month.
It’s one of four hotels where workers are on strike.
And this morning, the BC Federation of Labour is calling on the general public to boycott those four hotels.
They are the Hyatt Regency Vancouver, the Westin Bayshore, the Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront, and the Rosewood Hotel Georgia.
Laird Cronk is the President of the BC Federation of Labour. He was on the picket line a few moments ago and he came upstairs to us here at our studios to tell us more about the strike action and today’s call for a boycott.

Port Moody Council has voted 4-3 to ask Mayor Rob Vagramov to go back to unpaid leave.
The Mayor said he will take the vote into consideration, but he doesn't legally have to leave.

But last month he returned to work, even though the criminal case has not been concluded. Vagramov has maintained his innocence.

New report highlights challenges faced by women in the healthcare system
A report out by the BC Women's Health Foundation suggests women patients are treated differently than men in the healthcare system.
It suggests some reasons for the gap are due to lack of women in clinical trials, and the lack of investment specific to their unique healthcare needs.
It also finds 1 in 11 women believe they were dismissed by their doctor, simply because they were women - and that younger women felt that even more.

Premier Horgan comments on report in to the former sergeant-at-arms at the BC Legislature
Earlier in our program we spoke with Global News reporter Richard Zussman about the report from Vancouver Deputy Police Chief Doug LePard into the actions of Gary Lenz, the former sergeant-at-arms at the BC Legislature.Â
The report found that Lenz was dishonest during an investigation into the recent spending scandal.
Premier John Horgan spoke with reporters about when he was made aware of the allegations made against Gary Lenz and Craig James.Â
When pressed by reporters about the claim that Geoff Meggs, Horgan’s chief of staff, shredded the document, Horgan restated his claim about how the document was not his officer’s responsibility…Â
