As discussions with the province on a new contract continue, the BC Teachers’ Federation says as many as 400 teaching posts across British Columbia are currently vacant. The BCTF says other provinces are better able to compete for staff, because they pay their teachers more.

Grizzlies superfan holding rally to bring NBA back to Vancouver

Nearly 20 years after Vancouver lost its NBA franchise, a Grizzlies superfan is hoping to start a movement to bring one back.

Kat Jayme, the filmmaker behind the award-winning documentary Finding Big Country, is organizing a rally to show local support when the NBA comes to Rogers Arena on Thursday.

That’s when ex-Raptor superstar Kawhi Leonard and his LA Clippers will take on the Dallas Mavericks.

Inspiring the next generation of doctors and scientists in B.C.

Starting tomorrow, around 200 high school students from all over the Lower Mainland will have their chance to find out more about cancer research.

It's called the Mini Med School. It's taking place at the BC Children's Hospital, and here to tell me more is the dean of this year's school, Dr Rod Rassekh.

An EU official who has access to information about the Brexit talks says the major issue blocking a deal - how to handle the Irish border - is close to being resolved.

Negotiators from the European Union and Britain are scrambling at talks in Brussels to craft a deal so the U.K. can leave the bloc as scheduled on October 31st, with a Brexit deal in place.

Police say 46-year-old Trevor Leonard Smith poses a high risk of relationship and sexual violence, especially against children.
