The 40-day federal election campaign is officially underway, with Prime Minister Trudeau asking Governor General Julie Payette to dissolve Parliament this morning.

Voting day is October 21st.

Speaking outside Rideau Hall, Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau was asked about the new Globe and Mail report that the Liberals are using cabinet confidentiality to block people from speaking to the RCMP about possible obstruction of justice.
