This week is Mental Health Week, and Canadians are encouraged to share their own experiences with mental health, and to learn more about how mental health issues can impact the lives of individuals.
As part of Mental Health Week, the BC Schizophrenia Society is bringing awareness to schizophrenia, a complex mental disorder that is often misunderstood, through Canadian music. By partnering with ten Canadian artists, BCSS has produced an album that replicates what it’s like for one to live with the disease, allowing for the general public to better understand this very personal issue.
WARNING: The following song is an immersive experience designed to emulate some possible symptoms of schizophrenia. Some may find the content disturbing. Listener discretion is advised.
Guest: Andrew Stewart
Interim executive director of the British Columbia Schizophrenia Society
