Scandal at the Legislature: Speaker tried to appoint friend as new sergeant-at-arms for B.C. legislature

Another shocker from the BC Legislature this morning. The latest following the suspension of Clerk Craig James and Sgt at arms Gary Lenz Tuesday pending a criminal investigation.

Since James and Lenz were walked out of the Legislature Tuesday, a new face to most Allen Mullen has been giving statements on behalf of the speakers office. Yesterday we learned he's been part of the months long internal investigation into the two officials and that he and the speaker are friends since working together at kent institution.

Today Liberal house leader Mary Polak  saying the speaker had an unusual request of the house leaders when  they met over removing James and Lenz.

 Few details yet on what Lenz and james are being investigator other than it involves their administrative duties. RCMP are handling the investigation and two special prosecutors have been appointed.
