Prominent Vancouver businessman and philanthropist indicted in U.S. college admission bribery scandal

One of the 50 accused in the scandal is a well known University of British Columbia alumni. A surprising name among the 50 -- is David Sidoo.  A well known local businessman and philanthropist -- Sidoo graduated from UBC and is well known within the football community. He played for the Thunderbirds and spent five years playing in the CFL for the Saskatchewan roughriders. A statement from his lawyer reads "the charge lodged against Sidoo is an allegation that carries with it the presumption that he is innocent" The statement asks that people don't rush to judgement and Sidoo will present his case in court.  He's been charged with conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud.
