B.C. and the federal government are moving to expand restrictions to protect the province's dwindling caribou population. However, some local residents are concerned about the government’s efforts and says it will negatively impact jobs in the region. Political and business leaders from the Peace region were in Victoria on Wednesday calling on the province to stop its caribou recovery plans for the South Peace.
