A new backs up what we hear on the open line on CKNW - British Columbians want ride-sharing NOW. To be fair, the poll was conducted for "Ridesharing NOW BC", the group lobbying the provincial government to allow it. The survey of 600 people across the Lower Mainland found 60% want Uber and Lyft ASAP, and 80% want it by the end of this year. And 66% think the government is favoring the Taxi Industry. The NDP government is bringing in ride-sharing, maybe in the fall.
