So people are split on this issue. Some people say that it’s a matter of respect, but some people are saying that her way of thinking is now outdated.  

Some people think that when they turn 18, they are on an even playing field with everyone regardless of age.

The young woman in the clip was 20 at the time, and she said at the time she felt very embarrassed because she thought she had offended Dr. Angelou. She is 49 years old now and says that she can see both sides of the debate.
