It's homelessness action week and in Surrey, a woman set up a table on the King George Boulevard yesterday handing out coffee, sandwiches and care packages to those in need, to bring attention to homelessness. 

Susan Sanderson knows of what she speaks: her husband Gary Robinson was a former Surrey city councillor who also had a crack cocaine addiction but ultimately got sober.

He died a few years ago but Sanderson carries on running the "Realistic Success Recovery Society" the two of them set up.

She says often homelessness can result from an addiction.
